An der erstmals ausgeschriebenen Falstaff Sekt Trophy beteiligten sich 122 Sekte – 80 von ihnen erhielten eine Note von 90 Punkten oder mehr. Die Erzeugnisse von Weingütern, Genossenschaften und Sekthäusern überzeugten quer durch alle Stile: in den Geschmacksrichtungen von »brut nature« bis »trocken« (beim Sekt = süß) und bei den Sorten von reinen Chardonnay-, Riesling- und und Pinot-Sekten über Cuvées bis hin zu Sorten-Exoten wie Gewürztraminer und Rotwein.
